"Families Are Like Fudge.....

mostly sweet with a few nuts" Families Are Like Fudge......: January 2007

Jan 19, 2007

I usually enjoy snow. I generally can handle being cold opposed to being hot. Summer and I just don't get along very well. Though right now I could handle a little less snow, ice and slush. We got the storm that came through last weekend. Were supposed to have another one this weekend along with the following week. Where does it end?

My kids have been out of school for a week now. They had Monday off for MLK Day, which I can handle, but four snow days. Come on people save me from this misery. Yes I love my kids but when you work nights and almost depend on them being at school to sleep. It SUCKS that they are home. Oh and did I mention there is another storm coming this weekend with no relief in sight?

Letterboxing

I have learned of a new outdoor activity that sounds interesting. Letterboxing is when you look for a box by directions given by the owner. Inside you find a stamp that was either purchase or hand made, a stamp pad, a notebook and possibly some other items. When you go on your treasure hunt you also take those same items with you. Once you find the box you take your stamp and stamp the owners book and you stamp yours with the other stamp. In the end you get a bunch of cools stamp (most of the stamp are usually hand made) and some fun memories of finding the letterbox.

If you are interested there is a web page you can go to. Here you can learn more about letterboxing and get directions for boxes in your area. Also there is another hobby that you can do if you have a GPS. Geocaching is the same idea but a little more complicated because you have to have a portable GPS. Though with this version you will get to take what was left by the last person to find the stash. I think the kids and I are going to go letterboxing today if it isn't to cold.

Woopin'

We decided to shell out the cash and get the new DDR game. We tried the online capabilities first of course. Seems that was almost the only reason we got it. I can tell you I got a butt woopin' there. I can say that I enjoy some of the more up to date songs on this version though. Here is to me dancing the week away!!!! Yes I know that this my third post about dancin'

Snow Cone
Okay where is this massive storm that was suppose to hit us this weekend? Okay yes we did get a lot stuff stuff falling from the sky. It isn't anything like I have ever seen before. It isn't snow, sure as heck isn't the rain the freezes to everthing and make the trees all pretty (so no pics this time.) It looks like a giant snow cone machine decided to blow up all over the city. It is little drops of rain that froze before the even hit the ground.

Anyone up for a snow cone?

Insanity

I went to Wal*Mart tonight. My watch had shucked its cookies and I had to replace it along with a few other odds and ends. I get there and its a mad house. Yes, yes, yes I can hear you all say that it is always a mad house in Wal*Mart. Tonight is was soooo much more than normal.

Everyone that does there shopping on the weekends was there tonight getting there shopping done before the "BIG" ice storm his us. The news stations have been telling us since Sunday or Monday that this storm was coming and they wait till the day before to make sure they have food and what not to make it through this storm. Yes I know I was there tonight but not to save myself from having to go out in an ice storm.

Honestly I'm looking forward to going out in it. Gotta get some rockin pictures to share with everyone. I also want to test my photography skills to see how well I am at taking pictures. Though my poor children may not want to I am taking them with me, at least for a little bit. I can't wait to get my share of the ice and snow everyone else has been getting. Granted it is two weeks late. There was no ice or snow for Christmas. That totally bummed me out.

Super Nova
Okay in my previous post I told you about getting the DDR. We danced the weekend away. Between the kids, there friends, my hubby and myself we were dancing all weekend. We got the eye toy to go with it and thought that we would try the broadband capabilities of the game. We were sorely disappointed to find out that they have officially taken Dance Dance Revolution Extreme 2 off of there servers and replaced it with the NEW Super Nova Version. So no dance dance online for us unless we want to shell out the purchase price of $40 for the new game.

DDR

For Christmas Santa brought the kids the Dance Dance Revolution Extreme 2. It is freekin' funny to watch them try and play this game. Video will soon follow. Though I can say I am probably funny to watch as well. As fun as this game is I am totally rhythm free. I can't dance my way out of a box to save my life. So to me this game is really hard. I'm hoping to get better.

Today though it is taking a little road trip to a friends house so we can duke it out against each other. She has rhythm so she will probably kick my a**.

About Me

Name: Audi
Home: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, United States
About Me: I was born in Colorado. Lived in Greeley until 2001 and moved to Oklahoma (yes of all places.) I tell people that my car broke down here and I haven't gotten the money to get it fixed. People actually believe me. I miss home but going there every once in a while cures me of that and reminds me of why I left. Though most of my good friends are still there. With the exception of one. She also thought leaving would be a great idea. Though why she left for Washington State is beyond me. Love yah Megs. I also have two wonderful children and a husband that could be counted as a third but I love him too. With them, work and life I just can't seem to keep up, though some how I seem to do a pretty good job at it.
