I'm starting to fly! |
Have you ever been so sick of the clutter and the mess around your house. I know I have been. I found a web site that walks you through a 28 day routine setting "program." Fly Lady I'm hoping will help me get controls of my house. I've have been doing better. I no longer have dirty dishes around my house from three weeks ago. You think I'm joking don't you? I'm not. I used to be horrible at keeping my house clean. I used to be one of those people that you would walk into there house and the only way to the couch was through a carefully crafted path. The dishes would be piled onto any surface I could find. Sometimes they would even end up in rubbermaid tubs to hide them from company or from myself.
Though gone are the days where you have to walk through the path to the couch. The rubbermaid tubs are now used for Christmas decorations and actually storing things. I'm hoping with doing this I can get the areas that I haven't been able to control under control. They call these the hot spots. The areas that collect the clutter and if left unattended with turn into a "wildfire" of clutter. If anyone has some suggestions on how to organize computer stuff let me know because I have enough of it to fill a dump truck. |

Gifted |
I am officially a REALLY proud parent today!!! My daughter Cera was accepted into the gifted program at school. She is in second grade and has recently started telling me that school is boring. When asked why she tells me that she gets her work done faster than the other kids in her class and she still gets an "S" on her worksheets. As a parent hearing that from a seven year old is a little frightening. I know at her age school shouldn't be overly difficult but it shouldn't be easy either.
Cera has alway read above her grade level. Every year they test the students to find out where they are so they can start at the right spot. Not to easy not to hard. This year Cera was tested to be at a 2.7 reading level, which is second grade seventh month. If you think about it she was almost reading at a third grade level. She reads chapter books. Some words are difficult for her but when asked to sound it out she gets it and remembers the word later.
In short she wasn't getting challenged in some areas in school. I was getting worried because she was getting bored with school. I knew that I was going to have to do something. Instead the something came to me. Jason and I haven't decided if we are going to allow her into the program. We need to read over the booklet they mailed to us and talk to Cera about what she wants to do. My guess is she wants to try this to see if it works for her.
I'm so proud!!!!! |

Elephant in the Room |
I've recently found a new blog that I am enjoying called Frog My Blog. The author of the blog reviews other blogs on the net and rates them on a scale of 1 to 5 "bugs." She recently reviewed a blog ( The Things We Said) and commented on a post in the blog Elephant in the Room. It talked about food banks. The author commented how it seems that when the holiday season rolls around every year the news stations seem to do atleast one segment on the food banks. In this particular post she talked about an interview with a mother with two children. What go me the most about this post was that she assumed that the father wasn't present in there lives. Granted I didn't see the interview and probably never will. They may have said that the father wasn't in there lives but she seemed to assume that the father wasn't present.
I've been there done that. I grew up in the system. My parents are divorced and my father was in my life and my mother still needed help to feed and clothe us. Then when I was young I found myself with two kids, that I love deeply. There father was and is present in there lives. He was and still is a trooper. He was working a fulltime job and going to school full time. I was working full time and we still weren't making it. We wouldn't have made it without the help of food stamps, medicaid and food banks.
I read more of her posts and she seems to be a very christian person. If she is the way she presents herself does it matter if the father is there. She is doing her job as a mother and providing for her children the best she knows how. Where does she get off being the judge and jury? |

Airbags |
I find this so funny. I've watched it over, and over and over again and laugh everytime. So if the police were called who would be at fault? The granny or the driver of the car? Okay just watch it and you will see.

Trip Run |
One of my best friends parents came to town yesterday. We have know she was coming for a lil over two weeks. So being the friend that I am I took her four kids to the park and took some new pictures of the kids to send back home with her. Today I went to Target to get some frames and to print out some of the pictures I took. While walking into the store I some how managed to trip over the curb. Proceeded to almost fall into the first sliding door. Lucky for me it opened. Still doing the trip run I entered the entry way and almost ran into the second door. Thank goodness for me that the second one opened. Shortly after getting through the second door I recovered without falling but my pride was a lil bruised. I don't think anyone saw what happened but I felt like the biggest idiot on the planet at that moment. Chalk up another point for Audi and her gracefulness. |

Sick |
I seem to get sick quite a lot. Though when I do get sick it is more of a cold than dying in bed sick. I can say that in the last month I have gotten dying in bed sick twice. Why me? In the 2 1/2 years I've work at the hotel I work at I've call in a minimum of 5 times and two of those time has been in the last month. My boss has come to the belief that I never called in sick. Well until now. I've got to kick whatever it is that is getting me this sick. I don't like calling in sick to work. Especially on the shift I work. I screws with your body clock if you aren't used to being up all night long. So the sorry sucker that gets stuck working for me ends up even worse off than me dying at home. |
